Blue Water Lotus and Egyptian Sandalwood evoke the ethereal relationship between water and earth, and the elements' connections to divinity and ritual in ancient Egyptian culture. Both fragrances in this set, complete with a diffuser, are inspired by the Temple of Dendur (completed by 10 B.C.), a highlight of the Museum's collection. The temple, which was commissioned by Emperor Augustus and dedicated to Egyptian goddess Isis and two deified brothers, was built on the west bank of the Nile river and worshipped as a home for the gods.
Blue Water Lotus is a refreshing, floral fragrance representing the beauty of lotus flowers depicted in carvings on the Temple of Dendur. Notes of blue water lily, blooming jasmine, and grounding undertones of kyphi accord and myrrh beautifully round out this efflorescent scent.
The musky, woody fragrance of Egyptian Sandalwood recalls the Egyptian landscape, and pays tribute to the significance of art and architecture in Egyptian rituals and culture. Cardamom oil and cinnamon bark blend with papery papyrus, sandalwood, and cedarwood, creating a warm and inviting scent.
