Our dinner plate features details from A Bouquet of Flowers (ca. 1612) by Clara Peeters (Flemish, ca. 1587–after 1636), a founding figure in the European history of the still life. The still life attracted a number of extraordinary women painters who were, at the time, not allowed to study nude models. Our collection celebrates these accomplished artists.
