Italian Teardrop Earrings
These dramatic drop earrings are modeled on a pair of gold earrings in The Met collection. The originals were once part of a set that included a necklace, a pin, and two bracelets, all produced in Italy (probably Naples) in the 19th century. During this period, artists and designers combined motifs inspired by the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, and the Rococo to create works that reflected the past.
