Exhibited in the Museum's celebrated Arms and Armor galleries, this spectacular element of light-cavalry armor is intricately etched and gilded with Biblical inscriptions and Christian symbolism; the band across the breastplate depicts the Virgin and Child in the center, flanked by Saint Paul on the right and Saint George on the left. A leather belt and straps on the shoulders are likewise referenced with tasteful leather handles.
