Erté Soleil Noir Earrings
Translating to "black sun," the ever-stylish Soleil Noir dome ring appeared in Erté's (Romain de Tirtoff) (French, b. Russia, 1892–1990) fashion drawings as early as 1917. Between the 1920s and 30s, the celebrated designer employed the motif in so many illustrations that it became known as the "Erté ring," which he reimagined in various materials and subsequently adapted for cufflinks and earrings. Our earrings celebrate this striking design.
