Erté Aura Ring
The motif on our ring references a drawing for a brooch resembling a dramatic headdress. Romain de Tirtoff (French, b. Russia, 1892–1990), better known as Erté, enjoyed a multifaceted career as a designer of fabulous costumes and sets. He was likewise renowned for his dramatic Harper's Bazaar magazine covers. The Met houses an important collection of Erté's original gouaches.
