Egyptian Star Openwork Pendant Necklace
Size Information
This delicate pendant reimagines a gold ornament in the form of a detailed, granulated gold box. The original piece in The Met collection was made in Egypt in the 6th–4th century B.C.
The Met's box-shaped ornament features an opening in the form of an eight-pointed star, celebrated by our elegant 14k gold necklace. Ornaments such as this rare box were probably made prior to the rule of the Ptolemaic dynasty (323–30 B.C.) in Egypt.
