Description

Looking forth to the land of the living, the watchful eyes on our apron come from the spectacularly painted coffin of Khnumnakht (ca. 1850–1750 B.C.), made during Egypt's Middle Kingdom and now in The Met collection. Although Khnumnakht is an unknown individual with the exception of his name, his resting place is embellished with magnificent texts and decorative panels.
